2000年英国新进乐队Coldplay(酷玩乐团)在世界乐坛引起了不小的轰动，首张专辑《Parachutes(降落伞)》不仅夺得了英国含金量最高的英国音乐奖最佳乐团和最佳专辑两大奖项，单曲《Yellow》更是获得了NME的CARLING音乐奖的年度最佳单曲，成为全球冠军单曲。在英国专辑销量也早已突破了150万。
